Comlase has completed a new round of venture funding, providing the company with an additional 12 million Swedish Krona in capital (approximately $1.6 million).  More than half this total was supplied by new investor Teknoinvest, while the balance was raised from existing shareholders.

BioForm closed a $13 million in a Series C financing in 2Q 2004. Essex Woodlands Health Ventures lead the financing. Teknoinvest VIII participated with $2.1 million. Based on a unique technology platform, BioForm’s products are suited for a broad range of medical specialties where biocompatibility, efficacy, durability, and ease of use must coexist in one implant product. The Company markets products for soft tissue augmentation for use in cosmetic/plastic surgery (Radiesse - EU approval) and in stress urinary incontinence and vesicouretheral reflux (Coaptite - EU approval)

Capnia Secures $12 Million Series B Financing
Proceeds will fund Phase IIb Migraine Trials

Los Gatos, CA, April 30, 2004

Capnia, a private biomedical product company developing therapeutic products based on its proprietary medical gas delivery platform, announced today that it raised new investment of $12 Million in its Series B financing.  Proceeds from the offering will fully fund the Company's Phase IIb clinical trials for the treatment of migraine as well as continuing development and clinical evaluation of other products.

Swedish Injectable Bone Material Company Raises $ 5 Million

The Swedish biotech company Bone Support AB, which has developed a product platform for injectable bone materials, today announced an investment of $5 million in its first external round of financing. The actual share issue was directed towards two top-tier Scandinavian venture investors, InnovationsKapital, Sweden and Teknoinvest, Norway. The investment will cover the development of the company's first product, SpineSupport™, intended for the use in osteoporotic vertebral fractures. Within a short time, SpineSupport™ will enter clinical trials.
